Do repairs need a permit?
Comal County says state and county law require a permit before constructing or making non-emergency repairs to a septic system. Emergency repairs to stop an immediate health hazard may be made if they don't change the system's design.3 Check with your own permitting office.
Questions
My aerobic alarm is on. What should I do?
Cut water use, check that the system has power, and call your maintenance provider. Many alarms mean a high water level or a failed air pump.
Is a sewage smell dangerous?
Sewage can carry germs. Keep kids and pets away from wet areas and call for service.
